Search engine optimisation (SEO) is the process of improving your site traffic via search engines. The ultimate goal of search engine optimisation is to get better results using techniques and strategies that may increase the positioning or placement of your site in the search engine results pages (SERP’s). Getting a preferred listing is no longer a result of excessive submission to numerous search engines, but rather a careful analysis of content, keywords and site structure to get the best possible results.
Search Engine Optimisation is an internet marketing strategy that starts in the design process, it then needs to be built according to Search Engine Standards. All aspects of a website need to be SEO compliant before the site launches. Once a site is launched an SEO professional will then optimise the site using his/her understanding of search engine algorithms to create a strategy on an industry by industry and customer by customer basis.
In today’s world search engine optimisers no longer look at search engines alone, they also are responsible for SEO tactics such as Social Media Optimisation, Fresh Content Marketing and linkbuilding to improve their clients overall pageRank and Google trust.
