I have noticed that when it comes to Search Engine Optimisation in South Africa, everyone seems to look directly to Cape Town to get an SEO expert or an SEO company to help them with their search engine optimisation needs.  How I am not going to sit here and bash any Capetonians  who are indeed very good at what they do, but I am going to rant on about WHY all the SEO conferences, SEM expos, Google conferences and other big search engine marketing events always seen to take place in Cape Town. How I don’t mind flying down to CT for a great conference that helps me to think a little outside the box but surely something big can take place in JHB.

There are many very competent companies in Johannesburg that are itching to understand more about SEO and I am sure there are many SEO experts and companies who will be willing to  raise awareness and share their search experience and strategies with those interested in listening.

I must admit, being a huge Google activist myself I am saddened that even Google themselves run off to Cape Town when looking for someone to raise awareness for their brand in South Africa.

Come on everyone, if you are going to try improve the awareness of SEO in South Africa then we need to have an SEO expo in every major city. SMX Durban or  SEM Joburg ? Lets tell South Africa about SEO and not just focus on the mother city. END RANT
